as someone who wasn't born until 1989 i have no real experience with what went on during the 80's so it's stuff like this that allows me to see how marketing and what not worked back then

going off of that....the 80's seemed very quiet and reserved compared to how everything was marketed in the 90's

That's OK. I don't remember the first 5 or 6 years, and I was there.

You can't tell from the commercials, but the 80's were breedy gud. Surprisingly, racial tensions weren't as high, globalism didn't f**k over low or no education workers, and people were cautiously optimistic about the future.

Yeah, in the 80's many folks were doing cocaine. Heroin was not something that too many folks messed with, especially kids. I have lost a few friends over the years due to heroin. (I have never tried it, no interest at all).

Maybe that was because of all of the people listening to music on their cassette players.

Commercials seem to have kept the same format since the 90's (if not even more ADD-driven), so it's odd knowing they've not changed much since I was born.

Though I believe this is the greatest commercial ever made:

the 90's had some weird and original commercials...now it's all about being viral and doing something that becomes an internet meme
