if you get intoxicated, and things start to seem fun, its because

    (i'm pretty sure)

    (btw not a conspiracy theory)

your perception is being tuned down a little and predictability

is less possible. by this change in real-time breakdown of

events, and added less judgement and high spirits, life

is all of a sudden enjoyable again.

but the lesson here is, what the hell originally

could people conceive to make life

    so insufferably boring?

I've never found life boring. Unpleasant at times, but not boring.

I have thought this theory many times before , how ever here is why I think its somewhat incorrect, probably completely incorrect.

When people use substances like X and Y, especially the more boring substances, there is a feel good feeling which doesn't result from doing anything in particular.. the substances aren't augmenting their current activity. The substance is simply performing its own mechanism- to feel good regardless of the situation.

If we delinate the opposite of this- predictability causing lack of satisfaction- then we contradict the act of a goal since goals are predictable. So its more of fear, worry of the future and tolerance rather then any insufficiency in the current moment causing lack of satisfaction.

Isn't worry of the future always why the present moment isn't satisfactory?

Worry about the future, or longing for the past. That's why nobody wants today.
