Whether the group called it quits, split up, someone passed away or anything of the like, what are/were some of your favorite music groups that split up?

Two of mine would be The Bravery, who literally just stopped existing at one point and Crystal Castles whom still exists but the original group broke up awhile back.

I gotta agree. It's a travesty. You Love Her Coz She's Dead is a similar group, both in their sound and the fact that it was a duo that split up and sucks now.

The Smiths. Morrissey without Johnny Marr is annoying and Johnny Marr without Morrissey is depressing

Black Sabbath is quitting at the end of their current tour.

Manowar announced they're breaking up after their next tour earlier this year.

Of bands that are already totally done, Lordian Guard, Black Hole, and Emerald come to mind. Funeral Circle put out their great debut and so far only full length in 2013, and now every single person who played on that album is out of the band, but the band continues on. Eh. I would say Rainbow, but Ritchie Blackmore is doing some shows in Europe under that name playing old Rainbow and Deep Purple songs, so eh.

Congratulations 2010, 2012, and 2014 San Francisco Giants! Beat LA!

    Alice in Chains.

I know there's a group called Alice in Chains that does music now, but... Y'know, f**k that.

Really nice pick! I do miss that incarnation of Van Halen a lot. It really seemed like they could do no wrong.
